Today was gingerbread house decorating with Madeleine and Gennie! It was a great time with some good friends!

From Top, L-R
(1.) Gennie baked everything for us and had everything set up like a pro. (2.) My gingerbread house. Artistic? Not much. But I think it's a "classic" gingerbread house. (3.) And then there's Gennie with her gorgeous house. Boooo... (4.) We decided to take a "cheesy" Christmas-card photo in our aprons. I actually think it turned out pretty nice! Also, Madeleine has her giant cup of rum and eggnog. Wouldn't be a holiday party without it! (5.) We had three bags of white icing and then three little containers of coloured ones. We figured "Christmas" colours (the red's more salmon, but you can't get red royal icing by just adding the gel so we had to make do) and blue for ice would work out nicely! (6.) Gennie, hard at work. (7.) Madeleine, also working. (8.) We had to take Gennie's dog for a walk. While it was nice to get out and stretch, I have to admit that it was nice getting back inside from the below-average weather.

It snowed this weekend. We've had snow this fall before but this is the first time it actually stuck (and it seems like it will for the next 4-5 months). We had been hearing the warnings throughout the week so I was ready: scones and Peppermint Mocha Via packages for breakfast, secret tree decorating and pesto pizza in the evening, and absolutely no adventuring until the next morning.
