Hi everyone! Hopefully you all enjoyed Valentine's Day. Mine was surprisingly wonderful, even if I was at work for most of it. Will post more later about that.

So I thought I would do another Bridevice. Here's Tip Number 2!

I realized fairly late in the game that planning a wedding is not quite as easy as I thought it would be. Some parts were and other parts were strangely stressful. You'll worry about the stupidest things you never thought you would. Things like, "What colour ribbons should be on the pew?" Really. That could be your life.

There would be times that I would be crying out of frustration and Shoes would just give me a hug and I would remember that I'm not planning just a big party. I'm planning a big party to celebrate the beginning of my life with Shoes. And compared to that, who really cares what colour those ribbons are?

So remember what you're planning for. I guarantee you, you will make yourself 100% less stressed when you do.

First off... so sorry for the HUGE hiatus. It's been so busy what with a stupid amount of family stuff, birthday stuff, and work (yay, January = exams!). But finally, I have a bit of time for myself! I have several plans coming up, especially what I had indicated before: Friday Favourites and Bridevice. And since it's Saturday and not Friday, I thought I would start with Bridevice!

Not too long ago (literally) I was planning for my wedding and I feel like I've learned a bit from my endeavours. I know there's a lot of advice stuff out there for brides (TRUST ME, I know) but I thought I would put my own spin on it. So... here we go!

If you trust all of those bride magazines, then there is no limit to what you "need" at your wedding to make it truly memorable. Do you really? Doubt it. Shoes and I sat down one day and we decided what we really wanted. The both of us really wanted to make sure we had amazing food. I wanted nice stationary and wonderful photos. We both wanted to make sure it was a comfortable evening. We wanted to make sure only those closest to us were there. And, most importantly, we wanted to be married in a place and by someone important to us.

We also decided what we didn't want. We didn't want a limo. I didn't want to have to spend on a decorator. We definitely didn't want a videographer. And we didn't really care for dancing, so we didn't want a DJ.

Talking about this stuff with your partner is important before you start your budget. It gives you a sense of direction so that you can either budget more or less for certain items.

Your priorities may change as time goes on. For example, I wanted really nice invitations from minted. I was ready to drop $500 for the entire set. And then I passed by the make-your-own invitations aisle at Target... and decided that I could do something nice instead.

So decide what you want. Do you want things done by a professional? Do you need that aisle-runner but you don't care for really expensive flowers? You decide. And you know what, if you decide that you need it all, that's awesome too. Just make sure you decide before you start budgeting and shopping around.
